I ran London Marathon on 24th April 2016.
All 26.2 Miles of it
But I forgot to STOP..!
Every day I run another MARATHON
26.2 miles per day / 796 miles per month / 9,563 miles in a year
I will finish at London Marathon on 23rd April 2017…
I am doing this all for Macmillan Cancer Support & Pilgrims Hospices. The Pilgrims Hospice in Kent, was instrumental in the care and support of my amazing Stepfather Doug, in the final months and year of his life. They provided all sorts of “stuff” to make his life more comfortable. Their volunteers gave him and my Mum massages regularly(!) and organised activities iike pottery that kept him active and interested in life. He didn’t go into the Hospice in the final days as he wanted to be at home with Mum. The nurses that came to care for him were outstanding, even coming after work – “Just to see how he is doing…”
I felt like I needed to “give back” somehow…
The Hopsice needs £9M(!) per year to carry on providing the amazing services that it does. I thought I could get out there and get into a bit of discomfort and see how much money I could raise for them and Macmillan’s to say thank you.
So, it all started at London marathon, and that is where it will conclude on April 23rd 2017. However, in the mean time, every day I will get up and run another marathon distance of 26.2 miles (42 km’s)
I would be so grateful if you would find it in your heart to donate any amount, to help me reach my target. It is going to be a HARD challenge, and every penny raised will make it all worth it..!!
Hey, and if you fancy coming out for a run (it doesn’t need to be a full marathon, join me for 1mile or 5k or 10k…), just let me know… :o)
(50% of money raised goes to the “Pilgrims Hospices” and 50% goes to “Macmillan Cancer Support”)
